Hangzhou Project & Research Institute
(HPRI) was named as Hangzhou Project & Research
Institute of Machinery, Light Industry Ministry
formerly, which was approved by the State Council
in 1979 and announced by the National Science
Committee and the Ministry of Light Industry jointly,
as well as settled down in Hangzhou in 1982. To
be as a key institute in area of light industrial
equipments design and development, and as one
of total 242 state application institutes in China
under National Economic Trade Committee and Bureau,
HPRI was reformed formally as a science and technology-oriented
enterprise subordinated to the General Company
of China Light Industry Machinery on July 1st,
1999. Approved by the National Industrial &
Commercial Administration Bureau, the Institute
was renamed to Hangzhou Project & Research
Institute of Electromechanical in Light Industry
on 8th Aug. 2002.
Nowaday, the HPRI holds 5 professional equipment
design departments, covering pulping, papermaking,
foodstuff, daily chemical, plastics individually,
an electrical transmission instruments and automation
department, a lab on trial of light industrial
technical course, an Engineering Architecture
Institute in Light Industry and 5 corporations,
which developed as perfect machines and a new
products development basis with abundant investments.
Number of technological organizations/associations
were registered by the institute, such as the
Papermaking Professional Committee to Chinese
Light Industry Machinery Society, the Machinery
Device Professional Committee to Chinese Papermaking
Association, the National Light Industry Machinery
Standardized Committee and the Standardized Branch
Committees on Papermaking Machinery and Food Machinery,
the quality supervision and measuring center on
machinery of papermaking, foodstuff, daily chemical,
plastics and the editorial department of Light
Industry Machinery.
Occupied more than 0.67 hectares, 15,000m2 for
research activities in the HRLI, the institute
has a strong professional research and development
team, including 8 state experts who share Government
premiums, 8 chief senior engineers, 60 senior
engineers, 89 engineers and technicians, 3 first-class
and second-class registered architects, 4 first-class
registered structure engineers and 11 registered
supervision engineers among 2xx employees.
The Hangzhou Engineering Architecture Institute
in Light Industry (HEAI), invested by the HPRI
exclusively, has become a member unit of the Chinese
Reconnaissance Design Society and the Chinese
Engineering Counsel Society. It holds class B
certification on engineering design, architecture
design, engineering counsel, engineering overall
contraction and engineering supervision. Moreover,
it has passed ISO9001 quality system certification
in 2002.
From the very beginning of theestablishment,
the HEAI has extended its business to fields of
device design, engineering design, consultation,
device completion and overall contract, etc. The
customers covered more than 2000 large/ middle-scale
enterprises. For evidences, HEAI successfully
managed 170,000 t/y high grade printing paper
and white coated board project for Jiangmen Papermaking
Factory; 100,000 t/y high intensity corrugated
base paper project for Shangyu and Nanyang, Zhejiang
Province, 10,000 t/y cotton pulp project for Baoding
Banknote Paper Factory, 50,000 t/y bleaching chemical
straw pulp and 40,000 t/y semi-chemical straw
pulp continuons cooking project for Chenming,
Shandong Province, а-alkene sulfonate project
for Nanfeng Group, 120,000 t/y washing powder
project for Nice, Zhejiang Province, Jianqao key
primary school in Hangzhou,. The Institute has
won more than 60 awards, among them, 1 second
award on National scientific advance, 6 third
awards, 1 first award on science advance at provincial
and ministry level, 11 second awards, etc.
Large number of senior engineers and/or engineers
have accumulated their own experiences in the
long term of field practice. Especially, in the
field of pulping, papermaking, daily chemical,
plastic machinery, electric drive instruments
and automation, have brought into play the synthetic
advantages in the device developing, manufacturing
and engineering design. Successfully to transfer
the services from traditional technical to integrate
testing studies, developing design, technical
services, engineering design, device completion
and overall project contractions, etc.
